James Stonehouse
James Stonehouse showed an interest for music at an early age and began playing Trumpet, Guitar and Piano in elementary school. Music was his favorite subject. James composed his first song at just 10 years old and his love for music inspired him to continue writing.
He fell in love with music for theater and film and become interested in composition and structure of music in the long form as well. At fifteen James began to write his own original songs for Orchestra. As young as sixteen he began playing piano at local establishments around metro Detroit, sneaking into bars and clubs to perform. At seventeen he was commissioned to score and write a theme song for a TV production and James never looked back. He attended Berklee College of Music in Boston where he studied Film Scoring and Composition. James has composed for Televisions shows, commercials, movie trailers, stage shows and musicals, ballets and arranged music for everyone from rappers to country and western bands. |
Rare Earth
The legendary Motown group formed in 1960 as THE SUNLINERS and in 1968 changed its name to RARE EARTH. Although not the first white band signed to Motown, RARE EARTH was the first big hit-making act signed by Motown that consisted only of white members. Hits include "(I Know) I'm Losing You", "Big Brother", "I Just Want to Celebrate", "Tobacco Road", "Born To Wander", as well as their biggest hit, "Get Ready".
Out of the nine albums released by RARE EARTH, two have gone Double Platinum (“Get Ready” and “Rare Earth in Concert”); one Platinum (“One World”) and three Gold (“Ecology”, “Willie Remembers”, and “Ma”) along with several million selling singles. In 2008 RARE EARTH released their new album "A Brand New World". ROADKILL: A LOVE STORY features several songs from this album. Although only one original band member remains (Gil Bridges), RARE EARTH still tour in the US and Europe and get audiences to their feet! BAND MEMBERS:
